National Lodging & Leisure Expands in Colorado January 23, 2009
National Lodging & Leisure (NLL) has announced plans to develop a new 114-room Hampton Inn & Suites in Grand Junction, Colorado. One of the fastest growing metro areas in the United States, Grand Junction is the regional business center for western Colorado and eastern Utah – areas that have robust economies driven by the booming energy production now underway on the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains. Boasting the highest hotel occupancy rates in the State of Colorado, in addition to its strong economy, Grand Junction has a robust year-round tourism industry encompassing a wide variety of tourist destinations and events.
The $12 million Grand Junction North Hampton Inn & Suites will be located on a 2.67 acre shovel-ready site at the I-70 and Horizon Drive interchange within close proximity to Walker Field Regional Airport. The four-story hotel will have 75 standard hotel rooms, 39 suites of various configurations, and will also feature a 1,000 square foot conference center facility. The hotel will also incorporated all the latest Hampton amenities, including the Perfect Mix lobby, expanded fitness center and many new room upgrades.
Colorado Springs-based Colarelli Construction has been selected as the general contractor for the project, which was designed by Indianapolis-based Precept Design. The hotel will be managed by NLL Management, LLC, and affiliate of National Lodging & Leisure. Construction is scheduled to commence in early spring 2009 with the hotel slated open in early 2010.
